Our Qualifications
Bob de Jongh started his financial services career in 1972 as an insurance agent for The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company. Two years later he became a Registered Representative with Hornor, Townsend & Kent, Inc.(HTK), a wholly owned subsidiary of Penn Mutual. In 1979 he moved his business to Cheshire, CT and in 1993 he founded NEi Financial, LLC specializing in Wealth Accumulation and Wealth Distribution. He is an Investment Advisor Representative of HTK and holds insurance and securities licenses in CT, FL, MA, MI, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, and SC.
Bob is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), and the Financial Planning Association (FPA), as well as a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT). Mr. de Jongh is a well-known and respected speaker in the New Haven County, Connecticut area on a wide range of financial topics. He also conducts a series of workshops throughout the year that are designed to help business owners and individuals understand the financial planning* process and make better financial decisions.
Bob is a past President and a current Director of the local Cheshire Chamber of Commerce. Bob has been a member of the Cheshire Inlands and Wetlands Commission for over 21 years and he currently serves as Chairman. In addition he is a Lay Leader in his local church and a member of a number of committees.
Mike Evans joined NEi Financial in 2006 as Registered Representative of HTK. He started his career with Coopers & Lybrand 1984 and attained his CPA degree in 1985. In 1990 he entered the financial services field with Metropolitan Life. 4 years later he joined Fleet Investment Services as a Senior Financial Consultant where he spent the next 7 years working with individuals and business owners. In 2000 he moved his practice to Edward Jones where he honed his skills and became a Limited Partner of Edward Jones in 2003.
Mike is Chairman of the School to Business Partnership Council, a Director of the local Rotary and a Director of the Cheshire Thomas Brooks Little League. He is a past Director of the Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and the Cheshire Education Foundation.
Barbara Roberts, CFS joined NEi Financial in 2005 as a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative of Hornor, Townsend & Kent (HTK). In 1991, she began her career as a corporate accountant with the Timex Corporation in Middlebury, CT. Later she started her own college funding business consulting parents of college bound students. She conducted free seminars at the area public libraries and spoke extensively about the college admission process. As a result of her public speaking and her desire to offer more financial services, she was asked to join American Express Financial Services where she became licensed and received her Certified Fund Specialist (CFS) designation.
Barbara brings to our firm a unique understanding of the challenges faced by business owners. She frequently conducts a free seminar called B.O.S.S. - Business Ownmer Success Strategies, which is offered exclusively through HTK.
Barbara currently chairs the Southington Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee, is an active volunteer in both the Southington and Cheshire Chambers of Commerce and secretary for her Church Finance Council. She has written several financial articles and has been published in several local newspapers and magazines.
Holly Calandra, our Senior Administrative Assistant, began her career in 1997 with Hartford Life Insurance Company as a Senior Service Specialist. She received her Series 6 FINRA license during that time and brings to our firm a unique ability to service the needs of our clients.
Mary Evans has been in the financial services field as an Administrative Assistant for over 15 years and provides a high quality of personal serivce to our clients.
